- For this video I go over how I removed the center seat on my 1436 Jon Boat. The process was pretty painless overall it just took a lot of time and hammering. I opted to go with cutting the rivet heads off with a screwdriver and hammer rather than grilling every hole out. This worked out great and gave me the results I was looking for.
I am still in the process of the final touches on sealing the left over rivet holes but the method I used was filling the holes with 3M 5200 coated sealed pop rivets. The bottom of the boat (and pop rivets) were then coated in Steelflex epoxy for protection and the interior was sealed with Gluvit epoxy. So far the rivets have held up without a problem. If for some reason they do not hold up over time, I plan to re-rivet using larger rivets and interior washers for more grip. I will also update this description so this information continues to be up to date.
