“Car of the Year” 2015 is the Volkswagen Passat. On the press day before the Geneva International Motor Show opened, 58 international car journalists from 22 different countries casted their votes, which were counted right there at the show. With 340 votes, the VW Passat finished quite a way ahead of the Citroen Cactus (248) and the Mercedes-Benz C-class. This put the Passat ahead of six other competitors, and after exhaustive test drives it came out on top in the final for the most prestigious and most-coveted automobile prize in the world. The finalists this year were: BMW 2er Active Tourer, Citroën C4 Cactus, Ford Mondeo, Mercedes-Benz C-class, Nissan Qashqai, Renault Twingo, Volkswagen Passat.
