Tens of thousands of people have marched in the Spanish city of Barcelona. They are calling on government to allow more refugees and victims of war into the country. The march was organised by the civil organization Casa Nostra Casa Vostra. Organisers say this is the largest demonstration of its kind to take place in Europe since the start of the refugee crisis. The protest comes after Spain pledged to take in about 16,000 asylum seekers from other EU countries under a quota system agreed in 2015. Like other EU members, Spain has fallen far short of this target. It's only resettled just over a thousand people so far. The march finished at the Mediterranean coast, which is a symbolic location, given the more than 5 thousand migrants died trying to cross the sea last year.
