Bora Studio will present a film documenting their collaboration with indigienous Dhimal community based in Jhapa Morang. In a week of exchange Bora Studio's Meena Gurung will work with the community to create eco-printed textiles while learning the traditional methods of dyeing and weaving practiced by the community through decades. Alongside the film screening Meena will give a live exhibition tour from Kathmandu showing the natural materials at the heart of her work and how they are transformed into fabrics, dyes and prints.
This event is part of a Fashion Open Studio programme in partnership with the British Council's The Climate Connection global programme and campaign. Nine designers from across the world have been selected in response to the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26 themes of Adaptation and Resilience and Nature.
