Could you tell a difference? I'll be honest, I got them mixed up when editing the video. I pray I got them lined up correctly. Both the SM7B and Ethos are my favorite broadcast mics I've ever used and your really can't go wrong with either one.
Of course, there are some circumstances that could change which would be best suited for your needs - a dynamic like the Shure might work better in an untreated room and a condenser like the Ethos, not needing as much gain, might play better with a less expensive audio interface - but these are both fantastic and currently exist in the same price point.
Now, it just comes down to which sound do you prefer?
