The preacher claims a wide range of capabilities, which is a tough order for a ski of this size. Naturally its size and shape means it should be ultra stable and easy to turn through all kinds of soft snow.
After getting a 50cm fresh snowfall over the previous day conditions to test this beast out were perfect. After a warm up run the skis inspired immediate trust in their stability through fresh snow with unbelievable performance in all turns in both fresh and chopped up snow.
Even at speed the ski proved itself to be reliable, stable and even with mistakes from the rider the skis stayed afloat and powered through without letting the rider down.
The real test for a ski of this size is in its claim to be able to handle groomed terrain well. Usually the width and sidecut mean very little performance through carved turns on hardpacked snow, HOWEVER THIS SKI DOES PERFORM!!
Once you've gotten used to moving across the ski's wider platform a little further, the sidecut kicks in, and wow they really do carve. As speed builds the wide footprint doesn't warp either and it really does hold an edge even on wind scoured hardpacked piste!! Unbelieveable!! Well done whitedot!!
Now the fact that these skis are light for their size means spins and drops are too easy compared to the normal heavy weight biffer in this category!!
So im off to find a freeride touring binding that can take the harsh wear and tear of skiing properly (and to the capabilities of this awesome ski).
Thanks Whitedot Skis #whitedotskis #awesome
