I had acquired a couple of battery powered LGB Moguls as part of a collection that I bought, and my dad is helping me test one of them out on the partially built mainline of the Crystal Cove and Rose Railroad. This portion of the mainline was built in the area that eventually became the helix. In fact, it was my dad that came up with the idea of creating overhead garage storage and the helix. At this point in time, the locomotive used a NiMh battery pack with Airwire control.
