Top things to do in Northern Ireland - Carrickfergus Castle & Donaghadee Lighthouse

In this video we continue to explore the best sights of Northern Ireland and drive just north of Belfast to visit Carrickfergus Castle and then revisit our friends in Donaghadee.

If you are in Belfast, have transport and are looking for the top things to do then look no further - this video will show you one of our best sites.

Caarickfergus Castle is situated next to a harbour and has wonderful views. The visit was very informative and in their resource room you can watch a short video explaining the history. For those that want to embrace the day they also have different hats to try on and make for great photos. Of course we couldnt resist trying them on !!.

After a morning at Carrickfergus Castle - we headed south back to the Ards Peninsular to meet our friends Kevin and Barbara. Kevin took Marianne out in their canoes and they paddled towards Donaghadee's lighthouse. I followed on foot and managed to get some great drone shots of their adventure and of the beautiful Donaghadee harbour and lighthouse.

When Marianne arrived at the lighthouse she announced that herself and Kevin had agreed to do a pier leap !!! Marianne hates heights but after running around the lighthouse 3 times they both launched into the water.

We had a fab time and wouldn't hesitate in suggesting Carrickfergus Castle as one of the top attractions in Northern Ireland.
