Michele Goodwin is the Everett Fraser Professor in Law at the University of Minnesota. She holds joint appointments at the University of Minnesota Medical School and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Professor Goodwin served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago and as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California-Berkeley. Prior to law teaching, Goodwin was a Gilder-Lehrman post-doctoral fellow at Yale University. Professor Goodwin serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Law and Social Inquiry. In addition, she is a reviewer for Cambridge University Press, New York University Press, the Journal of Population Economics, Law and Society Review, Law and Politics Review, and the Journal of Law, Medicine, and Ethics. Professor Goodwin is the Executive Director of the Institute for Global Child Advocacy. She is an author, professors, and lecturer. Her commentaries can be read in the L.A. Times, N.Y. Times, Washington Post, Chicago Sun Times and other publications.
Dr. Patricia Y. Jones is a licensed clinical psychologist with over twenty five years of experience as a clinician and administrator of mental health programs. Her vocational experience encompasses a diverse array of clinical settings; public and private, profit and not-for-profit as well as academic institutions. The integrating theme throughout her varied work experience has been the consistent focus on access to and development of appropriate mental health care for children and their families. She has a specific interest in applied psychological practice with culturally diverse populations, in interpersonal violence with concomitant post traumatic stress disorders and in child abuse. Her current professional work transcends the typical parameters of clinical psychology and is focusing on social justice issues and environmental activism. Dr. Jones serves on the Investor Advisory Committee for Rebuild The Dream/Rebuild America, and she is a board trustee for the Family Defense Center.
