A drive through Reitwein, a town and municipality in the district of Märkisch-Oderland, Brandenburg, Germany. The eastern municipal border along the Oder also forms the German border with Poland. In April 1945, the area around Reitwein was the site of fierce fighting during the Battle of the Seelow Heights. On the German side, the Panzergrenadier Division "Kurmark" fought with units from the war schools of Potsdam (Grenadier Regiment 1234) and Dresden (Grenadier Regiment 1235) for Reitwein. Trenches and earth bunkers on the Reitweiner Sporn remain today.
