Martindale Hall
Martindale Hall is an impressive Georgian-style mansion located near Mintaro. It was built for Edmund Bowman Junior from 1878 to 1880 for 30,000 pounds and has 32 rooms.
It is open daily from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm except Tuesdays, for self-guided tours.
As you wander through this beautiful historic building, you will see rooms lavishly decorated with furnishings and decor from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.
Bungaree Station
Bungaree Station was established in 1841 by George Hawker and his brothers, and this iconic property became the headquarters of Australia’s most successful sheep stocks. Today, it is still a working farm, and you can take a self-guided tour daily from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.
You can explore the Station Store, Stableyards, Homestead Gardens, St Michael’s Church and the Woolshed to learn about early pioneering history.
Sevenhill Cellars
Sevenhill Cellars was the first winery established in the Clare Valley in 1851 by Jesuits, who produced sacramental wine.
Sevenhill Cellars is open daily from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, and you can do a wine tasting or wander the grounds and explore the Underground Cellar, St Aloysius’ Church & crypt, and Weikert House.
The vineyards at Sevenhill Cellars are some of the oldest in the Clare Valley.
Clare Valley Wineries
Meander along the country roads of the Clare Valley, and you will discover more than 30 Cellar doors where you can taste wines, enjoy a regional platter and learn about the wine-making process.
Burra Heritage Passport
The town of Burra is rich with mining heritage, and the best way to see it all is with the Burra Heritage Passport. You can pay for and collect your key from the Burra Visitor Centre, which is open daily.
Your key lets you unlock and visit 11 sites around Burra, including the Burra Mine area, Redruth Gaol, Unicorn Brewery Cellars, Miners Dugouts, and several museums; it’s a great way to learn about the area's mining history.
