The first over-the-counter (OTC) birth control pill, Opill, will be available at pharmacies, convenience stores, grocery stores and on the Opill.com website later this month or early April. The birth control pill is used to prevent pregnancy and will be available without a prescription. Opill is made by the pharmaceutical company Perrigo. A one-month supply costs $19.99, and a three-month supply costs $49.99, according to Perrigo. Dr. Melissa Chen from the UC Davis Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology explains what patients should know.
