Dns filter can be used to find the Resolved IP address of the server. The process goes like this:
Browser asks the server :"what's your IP address?"
DNS server replies with the corresponding IP address.
This is called as resolving a domain name.
This IP can be used for confirmation in the future to ensure that it is the server, which is responding and not some malicious hacker or unknown server.
