Getting a mentor earlier in my career is on of the main things I would change if I had to start over.

But not just any mentor. It's important to have someone who aligns with your values.

Because when you have a mentor, you're basically saying you want to be where that person is one day.

And if there are aspects of their life you don't like, you may unintentionally take that on.
