FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WPMI) Whats better than having a pint during the holidays? How about having the proceeds from the pint go to local charities! The Fairhope Brewing Company held their inaugural 12 Bartenders of Christmas event this week. Local celebrities served as guest bartenders for the brewery to help raise money for various charities around the Gulf Coast. The guest bartenders poured brews and mixed drinks for tips and donations to raise money for organizations like the Fairhope Education Enrichment Foundation, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital and many others. The list of guest bartenders includes military veterans, Fairhope City Council members, Catholic priests, local radio personalities and Local 15s own Christian Jennings and Taren Reed who, together, raised $232 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.As of Sunday, Fairhope Brewing Company raised over $2,500 for local charities and theyre not stopping there. As an extra bonus, the brewery is adding another day to the event to make it a bakers dozen bartenders of Christmas. Monday, professional racecar driver, Thomas Moose Praytor, will be pouring brews for the American Diabetes Association from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Stop on by for a drink and have a toast to a good cause!
