Quick demo with a Marshall JVM410HJS & sm57s.
Don't criticise my playing, that's mum's job.
1960's lower SPL and slant cab makes this more like middleweight Marshall vs heavyweight Orange.
The fairer fight would've been the PPC4412 vs the 1960b, perhaps?
But the 1960a stacked on top of the ppc412 FTW IMHO.
[edit Jul 2020] Note that I didn't raise the level of the Marshall 1960a to match the innate higher output of the Orange cab. The Marshall would have sounded better had I matched the levels but I wanted a more raw comparison between these two very popular cabs (I'm talking pre-covid here because since 'the bug' I've not been able to access a music rehearsal room!)
