The Antelope Valley Transit Authority, a leader in the transformation to battery-electric technology, passed the five-million-mile mark of zero emission operations with its fleet of American-made BYD buses. AVTA estimates the agency has saved over 1.28 million gallons of diesel fuel and over $1.6 million in fuel costs, after paying for electricity. AVTA’s buses, the first all-electric bus fleet in the nation, also saved over 30 million pounds of CO2 and 72,500 pounds of particulate matter compared to diesel buses.
