Indication for surgery: Medical; Weight loss causing loose skin in the under-arm area leading to pain and discomfort, including rubbing and rashes.
Age: 40 years old
Gender: Woman
Weight loss: 37 kg
History: Gastric sleeve operation done 3 years prior to seeing Dr Bernard Beldholm. Now has stable weight. Currently 72 kg. Loose skin in under-arm area extending down to her lateral chest wall. The excess skin caused discomfort and rashes. Difficulty selecting clothes and the sleeves rub on the skin causing discomfort.
Operation performed
Extended Brachioplasty (arm lift)
Incision going from elbow down across lateral chest wall.
VASER liposuction used initially to shape the arm.
Around 500 grams of fat removed.
Excess skin resected under the arm and down towards the chest wall.
Note: Patient has had a fleur de lis abdominoplasty as well.
