Welcome to another walking tour.
Today we are going to walk in Cascais, a beautiful coastal village near Lisbon.
It is late October in Portugal but the weather is still nice and some locals and tourists are still enjoying the now peaceful Cascais beaches.
Autumn in Cascais, Portugal, is a beautiful blend of mild weather, natural beauty, and coastal charm. As the summer crowds thin out, the town becomes more tranquil, but the vibrant energy remains. The temperatures drop slightly, making it perfect for leisurely strolls along the coastline or exploring the scenic Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, where the forests are tinged with autumnal hues of gold, orange, and red.
Some people even go to the beach at the end of October, on sunny days.
The Atlantic Ocean remains a focal point, with surfers catching waves at Guincho Beach, and the dramatic cliffs offering stunning sunset views. The cobbled streets of the historic center come alive with cafés, where locals and visitors alike enjoy seasonal dishes like roasted chestnuts and seafood stews. The cooler air and softer sunlight create a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for exploring Cascais’ cultural landmarks, such as the Condes de Castro Guimarães Museum or the beautiful gardens of the Casa das Histórias Paula Rego.
Autumn in Cascais is also marked by local events and festivals, such as the Cascais Art Week, adding an artistic flair to the season. With fewer tourists, the town’s relaxed pace and the stunning backdrop of the Atlantic make it a perfect autumn escape.
