NANAIMO - Time is of the essence for crews working on the new cruise ship terminal in Nanaimo.
It has been under construction for the past eight months, it was supposed to be completed by March 31st. But the Nanaimo Port Authority says the deadline was a paper one, set by the Federal Government and that it's happy with the pace of the project.
The Federal Government's deadline may have been negotiable but the Norwegian Pearl's isn't. It will be the first cruise ship of the season to dock in Nanaimo on May 7th.
Weather has been the biggest challenge facing the crew and it will be until the project is complete
Rain or shine, finished or not, Nanaimo is less than a month away from welcoming the world to its brand new cruise ship terminal.
