Labor will take a 43 per cent emissions reduction target by 2030 to the next election.
Sky News has confirmed the target has been agreed to by the Shadow Cabinet at a meeting this morning in Canberra.
The figure is higher than the Coalition’s target of 26 28 per cent on 2005 levels by 2030.
The new policy is expected to be discussed at a special caucus meeting in Parliament House today.
