Rooppur nuclear power plant is being built in Rooppur village of Pakshi Union under Ishwardi Upazila of Pabna, 200 kilometers northwest of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The project is located on the river bank next to the Hardinge Bridge and Lalon Shah Bridge built over the Padma River.
Friends, in today's video I will show you the 4 cooling towers of Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant.
The height of each tower will be 175 meters. The construction of two cooling towers of the first unit, one of 168 meters and the other of 156 meters, has been completed. One 103m and the other 85m visible in the second unit. The reactor work of the first unit is also 87 percent complete. The two units of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant will generate 2400 MW of electricity. The initial cost of construction of this power plant is estimated to be more than 1 lakh 13,000 crore rupees. It is the biggest infrastructure project in Bangladesh as a single project.
