M/S of several young men on horses with stables in the background. Boys are riding around stable yard while trainer, Mr Arthur Goodwill, is watching. Youngsters leave the stables, still lined up. Youngsters are apprentice jockeys in training. Several shots of the lined up boys riding slowly.
L/S of a horse galloping towards the camera in a straight line. There are others behind him. The apprentices usually start at the age of fifteen, says the voiceover. They work in the stables and they are trained each for specific riding technique. Not all of the apprentices become jockeys, some stay to work in stables or choose some other career. Several shots of line of apprentices riding through the woods. They seem to be very disciplined.
M/S of the apprentices returning to the stables. M/S of one of the apprentices getting off the horse. He takes the horse in the stables. M/S of another apprentice taking his horse inside. And another... M/S of a boy waiting for the trainer to finish pouring sawdust into a sack. After it is finished, boy carries the sack away. C/U shot of the face of a lovely grey horse in his box. Another boy is seen carrying sack on his back. He empties the sack, which was full of manure, onto manure heap and walks off. Two boys are seen dragging a bale inside the stables.
