How is Kim feeling a month after her Preservation Facelift?
I'm so happy with how Kim's recovery is going. Last week, I asked if anyone had any questions regarding her procedure and recovery. Although there weren't as many questions as I expected, I want to address one of them today.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀: "𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼𝘀, 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝘆. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀?"
The shininess that Kim and many of my other patients exhibit in their videos is due to the CO2 Laser Resurfacing treatment that I perform alongside many of my facelift procedures. CO2 Laser Resurfacing uses targeted beams to penetrate the skin’s surface, where water in the skin cells absorbs the energy. When this happens, the superficial layer of the skin, known as the epidermis, is vaporized. This process heats the dermis, or middle layer of skin, stimulating the growth of new collagen fibers. Once recovered you are left with new, firmer, and smoother skin without the fine lines and blotchy skin you once had.
The initial recovery from this treatment typically takes one to two weeks. During the first stage, your skin will become dry and start to peel. The skin beneath the epidermis will have a pink or pale appearance that will gradually blend with your natural skin color. During this time, it's important to keep the new skin moisturized and protected, especially from sun exposure.
It can take several months for the shininess and redness to completely disappear. You might be concerned about how inconvenient it could be to go around looking red and shiny for several months, but I assure you, the healed results from the CO2 peel make the time worthwhile. Aside from a facelift, it is one of the most requested treatments.
Have you ever had a CO2 treatment, and if so, what was your experience like?
