In Australia, people change mattresses an average every eight to 10 years, which amounts to around 1.25 million mattresses every year ending up in landfill.
Mattresses can be dropped off at our Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre or Geelong Resource Recovery Centre. Recycling fees apply.
This fee covers the costs associated with recycling, which is labour intensive as each mattress has to be taken apart by hand.
Each year around 4,500 mattresses are dropped off at our centres for recycling.
Recycling mattresses saves space at the landfill and reuses resources.
