We - two beginning backpackers - go on a 3-day-long scenic hike through the bogs, lakes, rivers, limestone waterfalls, streams, hills, pine forests and a boiling summer heat of Northern Estonia.


This route is a section of the longer trail from Oandu to Ikla (370 km) built and maintained by the State Forest Management Centre (RMK in Estonian).

Total distance covered: 88 km

National parks and reserves: Lahemaa National Park, North-Kõrvemaa Nature Reserve

Bogs: Viru Bog, Suru Bog

Lakes: Lake Järvi Pikkjärv, Lake Järvi Pärnjärv, Lake Paukjärv, Lake Jussi Väinjärv etc.

Campsites: Nõmmeveski campfire site, Paukjärve campsite
