The Demography Project visualized population growth by ethnic groups/tribes in Kenya since 1948. Kenya has 42 recognized ethnic groups/tribes with diverse languages and cultures spread across its territory. The first formal enumeration took place in 1948 and with the exception of the controversial 1999 Population and Housing Census, the country has consistently tracked the population of its ethnic groups to actualize sustainable economic growth and development. Here we look at the top 10 fastest growing ethnic groups in Kenya by population from 1948 - 2019.
