The N2 Wild Coast road project will create at least 8 000 fulltime jobs. This is vital for a province struggling with the highest unemployment rate in the country. President Cyril Ramaphosa believes the project will open up investment in rural areas, as investors will have confidence.

The bridge is being built at a cost of R1.65 billion.

The Msikaba Bridge will be the second-longest bridge in the Southern hemisphere, while the Mtentu bridge, which is part of this road project, will be the highest bridge in Southern Africa.
