As a part of their moving campaign #TheUnderDogs, Dogs Trust Ireland has launched this heart-breaking video of one of their longest residents Kyia, who arrived in the centre back in 2013. The video highlights how some adorable dogs at the centre are needlessly overlooked and sometimes just need some extra special care and attention in order to adapt to family life.
The campaign focuses on 20 of the 176 beautiful dogs that are currently looking for homes at their centre in Finglas. Some of these dogs have been overlooked thousands of times through no fault of their own, since being rescued. All of “The Underdogs” highlighted in the campaign have been at Dogs Trust for at least six months and unfortunately, some have been there as long as five years. The longest resident Oscar has been at Dogs Trust a total of 2,024 days. Another dog, Porkie, was born at the centre and sadly has never left.
All the staff at Dogs Trust truly love and care for every dog at the centre but they cannot substitute for a loving home. The team are desperately trying to find homes for these beautiful characters and remain positive that there is a special someone waiting out there for each and every one of them!
