How to make this super yummy bread that is better than Almond Croissant.
Here's what you'll need:
Filling:
1/2 cup salted butter (55g)
1/2 cup icing sugar (60g) or confectioner's sugar
1 large egg (room temp)
1 cup powdered milk (128g)
1 tbsp cornstarch (7g)
1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
DOUGH:
3 and 1/4 cup bread flour (400g) or all purpose flour
1/4 cup powdered milk (30g)
2 tsp instant yeast (6g)
1 tsp salt (4g)
1 egg
1 cup milk (250ml)
3 tbsp honey (30g)
1/4 cup unsalted butter (55g)
TOPPING:
Almond slivers
icing sugar
1. Make the filling. In a bowl, mix together softened butter and icing sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Gradually add 1 beaten egg, mixing every after addition.
3. Then add, powdered mik, cornstarch and vanilla extract.
4. Mix until well incorporated. Set aside.
5. For the dough, mix together bread flour, powdered milk, yeast and salt.
6. Add egg, milk and honey.
7. In the stand mixer, please set at speed 2 or medium speed for 3 minutes or dough forms a ball or clean the sides of the bowl.
8. Add butter and continue mixing until dough is smooth.
9. Transfer to an oiled bowl and cover for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
10. Punch air out. Roll out dough about 18 inches in diameter.
11. Cut out 12 equal pizza like shape.
12. Pipe the filling and roll. Press tightly to seal to avoid leaking.
14. Place in a 13x9 inches sheet pan and cover for 25 minutes.
15. Preheat oven at this moment at 170C or 340F.
16. Brush dough with eggwash, pipe remaining filling on top and top with almond slivers.
17. bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
18. Let it cool down a bit and dust with icing sugar on top.
