Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Emily Kirby goes over the average timeframe for downtime and recovery after breast augmentation, including how soon patients typically return to work, exercise, and sex.
While for most of Dr. Kirby's breast augmentation patients, recovery is relatively quick, everyone is a little different. Patients who take the most time off work (about one to two weeks) tend to see their final results sooner. That's because letting the chest muscle relax as much as possible helps the implants settle into place more quickly.
