Sambhal: A stepwell was found in the Laxman Ganj locality of Sambhal on Saturday, and the excavation work continued throughout the day on Sunday. At present, the police force is deployed in the area, while Hindu organizations have accused it of taking over and making it extinct, and demanded that it be preserved in its real form. Two wells and stairs have also been found in the stepwell. It is being told that this stepwell is 250 feet deep. It was encroached upon and suppressed. It is being told that this stepwell belongs to Rani Surendra Bala. She used to live here. The Muslim area of Dausi where the stepwell was found used to be a Hindu area in 1857, but again became Muslim dominated.
