At the 6A track and field state championships, Aayden Gallagher who was born a male and now identifies as female was met by boo's and some applause. The sophomore beat the second place finisher by .20. OSAA allows for athletes to compete as a boy or girl based on their gender identity. Earlier in the season republican state lawmakers reacted to Gallagher competing by writing to the OSAA, requesting a change in rules.
