The Elektron Octatrack remains a key centerpiece in my DAWless studio setup. Of course, it's a fantastic tool for routing audio, mixing, sending MIDI, etc. But I tend to really enjoy using it as a standalone device, bringing in samples and ideas that I've generated elsewhere in the studio. Here, I created a beat based around a sample from the Digitone running through the Chase Bliss Theremae, and I'll take you though my process of creating the beat that was inspired by the sample.
