Frank Russo's a musician and a self-described child of the '60s. A big kid, really.
He's been collecting cool guitars, amplifiers and other musical gear for most of his life, so when a bunch of it was stolen, it broke his heart. "I didn't jump right on it because I thought it was disgusting," he said, from his Hamilton home. "I didn't go in there for a litte bit because I would realize ... all my babies are gone."
Frank has run the Music Box store in Hamilton for decades. He buys and sells gear and he teaches guitar and piano. Though some of the stolen items were inventory, most of what walked away came from Frank's personal collection, which he keeps in the house he owns next to his home.
Guitars and amps that are 60 years old or more are among the stolen items, and some of it's rare. "We're probably close to 90 grand," says Frank, putting what he calls a conservative dollar amount on the pilfered gear. "I've been in the business 36 years -- I could easily get that for what got stolen."
The burglary is under investigation by Hamilton police, and though no arrests have been made, Frank says there's a short list of suspects.
