Sometimes, when one does not see the uses of following a certain halachah, he tends to dismiss its importance. When not finding a single blood dot after months of egg checking, one may think, "Nowadays, there's no blood in the egg. Why bother to check?" However, we have to know that it's not up to us to decide the applicability of a halachah or custom. HaKadosh Baruch Hu wants us to check, and we follow the laws and strive to serve Him.

In the video, Rabbi Lev Leib Lerner discusses the Jewish dietary laws concerning the consumption of blood found in eggs. He begins by stating that it is absolutely forbidden for a Jew to consume blood, as outlined in the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch 46:1, which states that even blood found in an egg renders the entire egg forbidden.
The rabbi explains that the prohibition is due to the concern that the blood might be from an embryo. If the blood is found in the yolk, it is definitely forbidden. However, if the blood is found in the white of the egg, some rabbis suggest that it might be permissible to remove the blood and consume the egg. Nevertheless, he notes that most commercially produced eggs nowadays are unfertilized and cannot produce embryos.
Technically, the rabbi states, one can remove the blood spot, whether in the white or the yolk, and continue eating the egg. However, the prevalent custom is to discard the entire egg because it does not cost much. He acknowledges that if a person is extremely poor and knows that the eggs are commercially produced without roosters, they can remove the blood spot and consume the egg.
The rabbi emphasizes that the custom of checking eggs for blood is still practiced today. Whenever blood is found, the entire egg is discarded, as they want to be stringent in this matter. He concludes by encouraging his audience to "Be holy!"
