Over the years, traveling to Sierra Leone by flight has been extremely expensive, challenging, and burdensome for passengers. One key reason is the no availability of direct flights by airline operators since 1997. Therefore, this is impacting negatively on the Tourism and Aviation industries and the country’s economy generally.
To salvage the situation, the government of Sierra Leone recently announced the launching of Air Sierra Leone operated by a private Nigerian-owned company, XeJet. Since the official announcement by the government, there have been new information and safety concerns emerging regarding the Air Sierra Leone carrier widely showcased to start operations from the UK to Sierra Leone in December 2024.
Potential customers are now questioning the credibility of the Air Sierra Leone Operators and are very much concerned about passenger safety.
