Parents Lucy and Chris have received our CPR and the Overall First Aid Champion Award in 2021 for their efforts performing CPR on their infant son Rafael while they waited for 35 minutes for help.
The sudden and unexplained cardiac arrest turned Rafael blue and lifeless, but Lucy’s recollections from her first aid training kicked in as she sprung into action.
A combination of breaths and compressions meant that Rafael is alive and well today.
Their message to all other parents is know first aid.
