Please enjoy enthralling performance of Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan at The Bengal Classical Music Festival 2014, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Hindustani Classical Music Instrmental is a popular form of hindustani classical music of which Sarod happens to be the most preferred genre amongst the connoisseur.
Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash are the sons and disciples of Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and grandsons of the legendary Ustad Haafiz Ali Khan. They are the seventh in line in an unbroken generation of the Senia Bangash school. The brothers were initiated into playing the Sarod by their father and gave their first public performance at the age of eight. Their’s musical style is marked by its precision in tunefulness, and bold and resonant strokes, while maintaining the continuity of Indian classical music traditions. Intricate bols are a characteristic trait of Sarod playing in the Bangash gharana, as are the diri-diri tans. Here, the alap portion comprises of the alap, the jod and the jhala, the last at times in place of the ladant, a technique in which the first two strings are played, the second of which is tuned to Sa.
At the fourth edition of the Bengal Classical Music Festival held in Dhaka in 2014, Amaan Ali and Ayaan Ali played raag Jhinjhoti. Their enthralling performance was well-received by the audience.
