The prehistoric fortified settlement of Schwarzenbach (Austria) was occupied in the late Neolithic, the Bronze Age and the La Tené period. Over the last 30 years, an international team of archaeologists - under the direction of Wolfgang Neubauer - has carried out comprehensive geophysical prospection surveys of the 15ha inner area and numerous targeted archaeological excavation campaigns.
In addition, an open-air museum has been built up by postdoc researcher Wolfgang Lobisser on site. This video shows an overview of the latest research projects in Schwarzenbach as well as the experimental and virtual archaeology.
