A good adddition to any lathe is a tool post drill, even more so now I have an indexing attachment to use with it.
The tricky part was boring out the main body for the bearings as I don't yet have a boring head. Then I had the idea of using a lathe tool in the 4 jaw chuck using 2 opposing jaws to advance the cut opening up the hole.
It worked very well and got the job done
