Torrential rain and landslide caused massive damage in the Northeastern state of India. Passengers were stranded at the station due to the flood but were later rescued. Haflong town in the Dima Hasao district, the only hill station in Assam is submerged in muddy water.
The weather department has predicted that “extremely heavy rains” will continue for the coming days as the states stay on ‘red alert.
