In this video I give a makeover to our laminate/Formica kitchen countertops, using the Rust Oleum countertop marble paint kit. This video includes how to clean and prepare your surface. This kit does not require that the surface be sanded or primed. We also show how to isolate your house from your kitchen (this stuff is very smelly), how to paint the countertop and how to take care of it afterwards.
We wanted to update our Formica (laminate) countertops to look like marble. Ended up finding Rust-Oleum Countertop Refinish kit and it worked great. The final countertop looks gorgeous.
I honestly was super impressed with how their kit made our old countertops look like REAL stone. I think their kit is a great solution for anyone who wants to update their counters on a budget.
One user said, "You should do a clear Poly coat on top. I painted my sister's countertops with regular paint. Two coats paint with two coats of poly. At least 10 years ago, still looks good."
