The Jubilee government was voted in based on the reform agenda that was articulated during the campaigns and the promises made to Kenyans to address issues pertinent to
improving their livelihoods. The benchmark that the Jubilee coalition used was deliverables that it promised within 100 days of its taking over power.
The 100 days came to an end on 18th July, 2013. Coinciding with this date, the Heinrich Böll Stiftung together with partners in the civil society namely Centre for Multi Party Democracy (CMD), Africa Research and Resource Forum (ARRF), Centre for Governance and Democracy (CGD), I Choose Life-Africa (ICL), the National Women's Steering Committee (NWSC) and Elections Observation Group (ELOG) organized a Public Forum on the 100 Days of the Jubilee Government at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) on 18th July 2013 to facilitate discussion between the government, civil society actors, members of the business community and the general public.
The Forum looked at achievements, trends and prospects, and identified possibilities of working together towards sustainable, inclusive and equitable development for the benefit of all Kenyans.
In order to guide the discussions, the organizers engaged a consultant to develop and present an analytical paper reviewing the achievement of the Jubilee government within the first 100 days of its rule.
The analysis of the 100 days was based on actual commitments made by the Jubilee coalition in their manifesto, during major rallies and also in key speeches by President Kenyatta. Presentation of the paper was followed by panel discussions.
