On July 27, with the support of the National Guard, a reconnaissance overflight was made to the crater of the Popocatépetl volcano. During this overflight, specialists from the National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED) of the National Civil Protection Coordination and researchers from the Geophysics Institute of UNAM were able to confirm that the 83rd dome of the Popocatepetl volcano was destroyed by registered explosions and emissions with ash content occurred previously. Likewise, thermal images and photographs were obtained that allowed to determine that the internal crater maintains its same dimensions.
