In March 2021, Edinburgh Children's Hospital moved from its old home at the Sick Kids to the brand new, purpose-built Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP) at Little France.
On the day of the move, children and young people transferring to the new hospital faced the uncertainty of not only moving to a new building they had never seen before, but travelling there in the back of an ambulance they couldn't see out of.
To give them as positive a transfer experience as possible, we teamed up with our friends at Scottish Ambulance Service to create this film showing the exact journey they would be taking to the RHCYP.
Children and young people watched the real time version of this on an iPad during their ambulance journey, ensuring they could see where they were going the whole time and helping to ease any anxieties they may have had.
