How can you reach carbon neutrality, net-zero or climate neutrality?
Hi, I’m Barbara, the Co-CEO of 100% Renewables, a consultancy specialising in the development of Climate Action strategies. In my last video, I talked about the different greenhouse gases and their sources. In this video, I’ll talk about how to reach carbon neutrality, net-zero emissions and climate neutrality.
To reach the goal of the Paris Agreement, emissions must be reduced as close to zero as possible and as quickly as possible. By 2030, we need to have halved emissions.
Both carbon dioxide and non-CO2 emissions can be reduced by decarbonising grid energy, building more sustainably, producing our goods and services more sustainably and transporting our goods more sustainably.
In addition, targeted non-CO2 mitigation measures can reduce nitrous oxide and methane emissions from agriculture, as well as methane emissions from the waste sector. HFCs in refrigeration equipment can also be replaced with less harmful substances.
I hope you enjoyed this video. In my next video, I’ll talk about the use of carbon offsets to reach your carbon-neutral or net-zero goal.
Thanks for watching!
