Attorney General Steve Marshall joined a coalition of federal, state, and local law-enforcement officials in Mobile on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, to announce the results of an intense three-month operation targeting violent crime in the Gulf Coast region. The operation resulted in federal charges against 29 violent criminals, with about 50 guns seized.
In addition to the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, the participating agencies included: the U.S. Attorney’s Office; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Mobile Police Department; the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office; the Prichard Police Department; the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency; and the United States Marshals Service.
