The aftermath of the earthquake in northwest Syria has highlighted the "forgotten crisis" in the country, as medical aid slowly trickles in, according to a senior official from the World Health Organisation (WHO). Executive Director Mike Ryan expressed concern about the backlog of aid still waiting to reach the four million or so people in the war-torn region.
The earthquake temporarily blocked the sole aid corridor to the area, which bypasses government-controlled territory. But the first convoy of emergency supplies has now passed through the Bab al-Hawa border crossing from Turkey.
