This pose is a great fix for lower back pain directly in the centre of your lower back or deep inside the front of your spine.
This pain generally arises from prolonged sitting or standing in a poor posture where the spine of your lower back overly bends backwards. So to fix the pain you simply need to counter this position by bending the spine forward, as in this pose.
When the muscles in the front and the back of your spine are balanced, there will be no tension in your muscles. When tension is gone, pain is gone. As I always tell people, few minutes a day can really make your pain go away.
